Biography
Born of the astrological sign, Capricorn, Jihad Ziyad has defied all the odds preset for him. Jihad makes every effort to live by his own rules. Each day Jihad shows compassion for his fellow man. His love for people transcends all racial & economic limits.
Growing up, the Cleveland, Ohio native stated that at an early age he knew his birthplace was not his home. At the tender age of seventeen when most of his peers were living the"street life," Jihad was developing his craft for stand up comedy. He knew that that he was given an extraordinary gift to make people laugh and that this gift could help people feel good about themselves and their situations.
After graduating from high school, Jihad decided to obtain as much information about his craft as possible.In 2005, Jihad left his hometown to head South to the historic black college, Clark Atlanta University, known for its dynamic Mass Media curriculum. During his freshman year of college, Jihad's dreams of success were starting to come true. Jihad was selected to intern with Laffapalooza (2005) hosted by Oscar Award winner & his celebrity role model, Mr. Jamie Foxx.
Accomplishments
After completing his internship, Jihad then joined his college friend, Justin Milburn on the cast of the College Talk. In a one-on-one interview with Executive Producer Andre Thomas, he stated that "Jihad was an asset to the show. He's dedicated to excellence and I feel that he has a very promising future. He brings to the stage youthful, comedic overtones that helps to brighten even the saddest storylines." While riding high from the succes of two internships, Jihad decided to venture into acting and began grooming his skills to grace the big screen. To Jihad suprise, success struck again. Jihad was chosen for his first acting assignment he audition for. He was selected to play the role of Ray Ruffin Jr. in theT-N-V film "Man Cry!" http://www.mancrythemovie.com
Jihad not only has done work in front of the camera, but behind as well. He has worked on the production of "We are Marshall", due out this October, and also on the highly anticipated film "Steppin" due out January 12, 2007, starring Meagan Good, Columbus Short, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and a host of other big names.
Jihad is currently performing in the theatrical play "Black Voices", which was invited to the National Black Theatrical Festival in 2003 and 2005.
